NonStop Entertainments acqusitions at Cannes International Film Festival 2009

 

NonStop Entertainment is proud to announce it's new acquisitions at the recently closed Cannes International Film Festival 2009:
 
FISH TANK acquired from Content. Academy Award-winning writer and director Andrea Arnold's follow-up feature to Cannes Prix du Jury winner, Red Road, FISH TANK focuses on an alienated Essex teenager and the disruptive effect her mother's new boyfriend has on their close family life. Starring: Michael Fassbender (Hunger, Inglorious Basterds) and Kierston Wareing (It's a free world...). FISH TANK received the Cannes Film Festival's Jury Prize during the closing award yesterday.
NonStop Entertainment is distributing FISH TANK in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland.  

THE COVE acquired from The Works. THE COVE is Louis Psihoyos's documentary of the Japanese dolphin trade which won the Audience Award for US Documentaries during the 2009 Sundance Film Festival Awards. Flipper was one of the most beloved television characters of all time. But ironically, the fascination with dolphins that he caused created a tragic epidemic that has threatened their existence and become a multibillion dollar industry.

MADEMOISELLE CHAMBON acquired from Rezo Films. Directed by Stéphane Brizé behind the international success Not here to be loved. MADEMOISELLE CHAMBON features Jean who leads a pretty ordinary life with his loving wife and son. One day, as he's picking up Kevin from School, he stumbles upon Mademoiselle Chambon, his son's teacher. She's totally unlike any woman he has ever met before. This chance encounter will be a turning point in his well-organized life. MADEMOISELLE CHAMBON will premier on festivals officially this fall.

GREEN STREET 2: STAND YOUR GROUND acquired from Odd lot. Following the deadly climax of "Green Street Hooligans", several members of the West Ham firm and numerous members of Millwall end up in jail. Football on the inside and out is followed fervently by the prisoners and wins and losses are quickly followed by punishment or reward. When overcrowding compels a need for the early release of a fortunate few, fate brings West Ham and Millwall together again, this time on a Pitch. Game on. Directed by Jesse V. Johnson.
NonStop Entertainment is distributing GREEN STREET 2 in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.

SPLINTER acquired from Content. Directed by Toby Wilkins and awarded with numerous prizes at the acknowledged horror film festival Screamfest in Los Angeles last year. Trapped in an isolated gas station by a voracious Splinter parasite that transforms its still living victims into deadly hosts, a young couple and an escaped convict must find a way to work together to survive this primal terror.
NonStop Entertainment is distributing SPLINTER in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland.  

NonStop Entertainment also distributes, THIRST aquired from CJ Entertainment by Park Chan-wook, winner of the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize, together with FISH TANK.
