About the movie

Juliet takes advice not only from family and friends, but also the spirit world, when suspecting she’s being cheated on by her husband. When her suspicions are confirmed by a private detective, Juliet’s world falls apart. Her life turns into a surreal sea of childhood memories and strange, dreamlike fantasies. Soon Juliet realizes that these fantasies are just the right tools for emerging from her husband’s shadow and begin a new life as her own individual.
Juliet of the Spirits is Fellini’s first feature film shot in color, which strengthens the surreal themes and depiction of the human’s inner psyche. The film received two Academy Award nominations and won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign-Language Foreign Film.
