About the movie

One Chicago afternoon in 1989, a Harvard Law summer associate named Barack Obama finagled a tête-à-tête with Michelle Robinson, an attorney from the prestigious corporate law firm where they both worked. As their epic first date across Chicago's South Side continues into evening and these fiercely bright minds go head-to-head, sparks fly.
Richard Tanne’s first feature can simply be enjoyed as playful, charming, entirely credible imagining of a true-life anecdote. The very-well cast delivers a romance real and human-sized. The many challenges of African-American identity are also approached.
