In an alternate post-apocalyptic 1997, a comic book-obsessed kid tries the best he can to survive, collecting scraps and whatever he can find to trade for some water. His harsh reality becomes even harsher, when his newfound best friend is kidnapped, and he reluctantly must turn himself into a hero – not unlike the ones in his comic books.
