Documentary
Outspoken and strong-willed 48-year old Dina have what her mother call a “smorgasbord” of mental disabilities, but she is determined to have love and happiness in her life. And so, she meets Scott; a Wall Mart greeter who has Asperger Syndrome. We follow the loving couple through ups and downs as they try to find balance in their lives and everything included; marriage, intimacy and everyday routines.
This one-of-a-kind documentary about romance between a mentally challenged couple is as heartwarming as it is emotionally engaging. There are tender moments between the two as well as humorous situations as we get to observe what goes on at their bachelor/bachelorette parties. The look of the film is stylized in an artfully desaturated color and shot like a classic romantic comedy. ‘Dina’ won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at Sundance Film festival 2017.
