Documentary, Film dox
With the 100 years anniversary of the birth of Ingrid Bergman approaching, we are ac¬cessing her diaries and her own private footage and paint a highly personal portrait of the human being behind the legend.
Through private footage that never before has been published, notes, letters and diaries, as well as newly shot interviews with Ingrid’s four children and some of her former col¬leagues, we meet a woman who always chose her own path. A woman who lost both her parents as a child but through her work, her children and her loved ones, chose to live life fully.
For the first time, the story of one of our most distinguished actor’s will be told through her own words and images. Present-day Swedish actress Alicia Vikander brings her legendary colleague’s voice to life in this film and at one of New York’s Broadway theatres, Isabella Rossellini talks to Sigourney Weaver and Liv Ullmann about the Ingrid Bergman of the stage. Release in 2015, when Ingrid would have reached 100.
“I was born on August 29 in 1915… …I was named Ingrid. I was intense, unruly, stubborn and savage.” – Excerpt from Ingrid Bergman’s diary 1929-32
