Truman Capote was an American novelist, short story, screenwriter and actor whose work has been praised as literary classics, including the novella “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “In Cold Blood”. The Capote Tapes is a documentary that gives us a peek behind the curtain of Capotes life and career.
Using tapes, animations and interviews with his friends, enemies, acquaintances and detractors, the documentary explores the impact of Capote´s unfinished novel “Answered Prayers”. The film has been described as a celebration of Capotes towering achievements and his colorful personality, at the same time as it doesn’t shy away from his darker sides. Premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
