King Edward II’s first command in reign is to summon his friend and lover, Piers Gaveston. Gaveston, once banished from England is seeking revenge, and his comrade the King will do whatever it takes to protect him. This postmodern rendition of Christopher Marlowe’s 16th century play uses a mixture of contemporary and modern set designs, exploring highly topical themes through a far older story. Also award winner upon its release in both Venice and Berlin.
