About the movie

Anthony (Academy Award Winner, Anthony Hopkins) is almost 80 years old and mischievous. He lives alone in his London apartment and refuses each of the nurses that his daughter, Anne (Academy Award and Golden Globe Winner, Olivia Colman), tries to impose upon him. Anne is desperate for help. She can’t make daily visits anymore, and Anthony’s grip on reality is unraveling.
The Father premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is based on Zellers award-winning play, which rightfully begged comparisons to King Lear. Mind-boggling, heartbreaking, and uncompromisingly poignant, this mesmerizing chamber piece questions the truth and the nature of reality as it cunningly lays bare the frailty of the human condition.
