Documentary, Film dox
15 years after the eye-opening documentary Lost in La Mancha (2002) was released, documentary filmmakers Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe came back to follow Terry Gilliam’s new, and successful attempt at filming his Don Quixote screen adaptation with The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (2018). Several years later, set in contemporary Spain with a recast of Jonathan Pryce and Adam Driver, with half the budget and new version, Terry Gilliam’s vision is finally brought to life and the documentary He Dreams of Giants follows the making of the film.
Directed by filmmakers Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe, He Dreams of Giants is a follow-up to their 2002 documentary Lost in La Mancha. He Dream of Giants is a look at the struggling Don Quixote adaptation saga and passion project who finally got a happy ending and film release at Cannes with The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.
