About the movie

A former youth boxing champion, Jimmy (Harris) is a man in search of hope but looking in all the wrong places. When he hits rock bottom he turns to his childhood boxing club and the only family he has left: gym owner Bill (Winstone) and corner man Eddie (Smiley). Back in training, years after anyone thought he was a contender, he will risk his life to stand tall and to regain his place in the world.
Jawbone is director Thomas Napper’s feature debut, but its high-end furnish could fool anyone. Working with him on the film was boxing consultant and fight choreographer Barry McGuigan, one of the best boxers of his generation, who has previously worked with Daniel Day Lewis on The Boxer. The film also features a score by Paul Weller.
