About the movie

Ma Ma tells the story of Magda (Penélope Cruz). Confronted with tragedy, she reacts to it with the surge of life that flows inside of her, from the imaginable to the unimaginable. Accompanied by her closest circle, she will live the most unexpected situations filled with humor and delicate happiness.
Ma Ma is the first collaboration between Penélope Cruz (Volver, Broken Embraces, Vanilla Sky) and Spanish auteur Julio Medem (Sex and Lucia, Room in Rome). This also the first film Penélope Cruz produces. The musical score is composed by three times Oscar nominee, Alberto Iglesias (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, The Kite Runner, The Constant Gardener).
