Tracing the roots of Nas’ influence from his formative years in Queensbridge, New York, as the son of a jazz musician idolizing the early pioneers of New York hip hop, director One9’s immersive, illuminating documentary explores the roots of one of hip hop’s enduring masterworks.
One9 is an award-winning multimedia artist, director, producer, and editor. He edited the PBS documentary short, Can’t Hold Me Back and the feature documentary, Lucky. Official selection at the Tribeca Film Festival 2014.
