Documentary
The Painter and the Thief is an amazing saga about an artist who befriends the thief who stole her paintings. She becomes his closest ally when he is severely hurt in a car crash and needs full time care, even if her paintings are not found. But then the tables turn.
The film was shot over three years, and is presented from both the painters (Barbora Kysilkova) and the thief’s (Karl-Bertil Nordland) perspective. The Painter and the Thief premiered at Sundance Film Festival and won their Special Jury Award for Creative Storytelling. Distributed by NEON in the US.
