About the movie

In the mid-nineteenth century, mute woman Ada leaves Scotland for New Zealand due to an arranged marriage, and with her is only her daughter Flora and her beloved piano. Life didn’t pan out as Ada would have wanted, and her boredom is turned into torment when her husband Stewart sells the piano to a despicable neighbor, George. Missing her piano, Ada gives George piano lessons and slowly grows fonder of him…
