About the movie

By award-winning documentarian Antonino D’Ambrosio ("Johnny Cash’s Bitter Tears Revisited", "Frank Serpico” among others) comes a long overdue documentary about the legendary Roberta Flack. Of course she is well known the world over for “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and "Killing Me Softly,” for which she became the first person in history to win two back-to-back Grammy Awards for Best Record (a feat only recently matched by Billy Eilish), but there is so much more to her story and her impact.
With full cooperation and support of Warner Music- her record label- and Roberta Flack herself, this documentary will deliver everything you might expect, and thanks to the enthusiastic on-screen presence of other numerous superstars from various fields who know Flack and have been inspired by her work, including Adele, Lauryn Hill, AOC, Ta Nehisi Coates, Lin Manuel Miranda, Clint Eastwood, The Reverend Jesse Jackson and Jay-Z, it will be a timely testament to the powerful influence of Roberta Flack on our world, today. The film will be a journey of discovery, a trip down memory lane and an urgent call to action.
