Horror, Timeless
In a small town in the American country side, teenagers Steve and Jane see a meteorite crash and decide to investigate. When near the landing site, they come across an old man with some sort of jellylike matter stuck to his body. The old man is studied by Dr. Hallen, but with no real success. Instead, Steve becomes convinced that the blob is an alien monster, and as the blob consumes more and more people, growing larger and larger, it becomes more and more clear that the situation is urgent.
The Blob is one of the most iconic classics from the second golden age of science fiction cinema, where alien invasions made the primary talking point. In the role of Steve Andrews is a young Steve McQueen in his first feature lead, a few years prior to being the biggest star of the 60’s.
