About the movie

In the midst of the English Civil War, witchhunter Matthew Hopkins takes advantage of the social breakdown by forcing his terror reign onto East Anglia. He travels from village to village, torturing his way to confessions from suspected witches, charging the local magistrate for the work they do. But when persecuting a priest, it will prove that Hopkins might have messed with the wrong person…
